Due to the incoming snow storm, it was decided that we will postpone thew GBML Meet 5 to THURSDAY February 25, 2010. This date represents a change from an email that was sent earlier. This alternate date avoids a conflict with the AMC 10/12B. If your school is hosting Meet 5 and February 25, 2010 will cause a scheduling conflict at your school, please let either Marty (badoianm@hotmail.com) or Michael Curry (currymath@gmail.com) know ASAP.

We are getting ready for Meet 5. Below are the division assignments. You will receive an email that contains all of the email addresses for the schools in your division. If your school is hosting, please use this list to contact the schools in your division in order to provide them with relevant information such as parking, meet location, etc. Good Luck!

The Greater Boston Mathematics League (GBML) is an interscholastic mathematics league. Member teams compete on the five dates at the indicated locations outlined below.

Welcome to another season of GBML competition! At our annual meeting which was held last May, it was suggested that creating a fourth division would help to make our divisions more manageable. The Executive Board voted in favor of creating a new "South" division. Please see the "Schedule/Divisions" tab on the website for the breakdown of the divisions. The website www.gbml.net has now been updated. It contains all of the meet dates, rules, results, etc. It also contains all information that you will need to prepare for and compete in the league. If practice materials are needed, we can provide a sample of past meets via email. Past contests are not posted online. We will continue to use the website as our main avenue of communication.

The invoice is located under documents. Please submit this to your school’s business office as soon as possible.

The website from last year has been preserved and all results can be found under “2008 - 2009 GBML Website.”

In order to get started this year, you must login and register your team.

If your team participated in the GBML last year, you must use your login and password from last year. If you have forgotten your password (or login) please send me an email and I will reset it for you.

The information that you entered last year will simply need to be updated. You must update your students' grade level, spelling of their name (if there is an error), phone numbers, etc. If a student has graduated, please indicate that when you update your roster. Your roster should include all potential meet competitors for the entire year. You will always have access to their information. Beginning this year, the use of calculators will not be permitted throughout the entire competition. This includes the team round. We know that you will appreciate the hard work that has been done during the past few months to make the meet questions interesting and challenging. Another issue that was discussed at the annual meeting involves the starting time of the meet. It was reported that some teams arrive to the competition site well after 3:30pm. This has delayed the start of the meet and results in a tremendous inconvenience for the other teams participating. Beginning this year, we will be insisting that each competition site begin the meet no later than 3:30pm. Of course the meet may begin sooner if all teams are present.

Thank you, we look are looking forward to a year of great mathematics competition this year.
